Comments:  A very long and arduous process, my longest demo for these types of maps so far. I avoided waking up the Arch-Viles until when I was in a more stable position - if you do it straight away, you become trapped in the Alien Hexagon. 
Once you are in the outdoor courtyard, you are safe to begin killing those Archies, one by one. They will resurrect a bunch of stuff though, the main time save comes from here. You can usually punch them in one go because of the reduced health.
It's also a good idea to try and leave the more convenient health pickups until later (such as the Soulsphere at the very start)
