Description: TL;DR: Could go lower.

I wanted to practice the buffered weapon switch, which Daerik showed me how to do (thanks!), and then I somehow started to enjoy running this level, in a perverse sort of way.

I also think he basically found the optimal route for this level (but don't let me stop you from experimenting!).

I tried finding a way to utilize the cells by the secret exit better*, but there is just no way to offset the time it takes to get them. It just comes down to being efficient with the ammo you have. Since I ended with an extra bfg shot, and some rockets to spare, perhaps even the rockets by the telefragged manc could be skipped, but this relies on not having much clean up at the end. But that good rng will become necessary to bring the time down anyway. Most attempts I was running out of rockets during the clean up.

I opened it up in the editor to see what was going on with the monsters teleporting around the map, and it turns out the vile will go to the chaingunner line if his teleport location isn't blocked.

Daerik's run looks a lot better than mine, but I didn't have as much clean up at the end, which is very lame way to get a record. If I could figure out a way to guarantee that that one fucking revenant would wake up and teleport in, I would try to clean this up. (Oh and the telefrag on the manc...)

I wanted to add in the wall run back from the stair secret mega, and I also noticed you could take the teleporter back to the center after cleaning up the chaingunners by the secret exit.

I just have to say, that hallway to the YSK is the most cursed piece of mapping I have ever played. Not only do the monsters just teleport right on top of you while vile flames usually blind you, but there is a block map line going through the middle of it! The bfg has never felt so impotent. I have seen revenants survive point blank tracers!

*If you could go to the secret exit and kill the 2 pain elementals and cacos with just the bfg (instead of going back to the left after the soulsphere secret), maybe it could be worth getting the cells. The pathing of the fliers never made this work. It also wakes up the specters below if you don't drop down first, and then it wastes time trying to track them down.
