This project was inspired by the aesthetic of Stage 2 of Sonic the Hedgehog, Marble Zone, which I had mistakenly believed was called "Marble Hill Zone" for most of my life until I looked up a video of the stage on YouTube in preparation for the project. I'm sure most people will recognize that a lot of the sounds have been pulled from that game. The muted green and purple colors in the palette were specifically designed to mimic those in this level. All of the textures and flats I added in were from past DBPs. A couple of them are from DBPs 29, 38 and 50 but the bulk of the textures come from DBP11 and DBP15, which I thought had similar themes to what I wanted this project to be. Plus, I always liked the DBP11 resources and wanted to work with them. In fact, I told mappers to think of it as "Lilywhite Lilith but with lava and purple caves". I shifted some of these resources to fit the pale green/purple color scheme of the project, some of these were further touched up by corvus262. Production on this was a little backed up due to trying to wrap up DBP66 and start this, so 40oz graciously finished off the resource pack by including a few new textures/flats and a demo map (which would become MAP03: Pine Palace). The initial resources didn't have a sky and the mappers weren't crazy about the overcast sky 40oz put in the resources so snowy44 provided some skies from "Kirby Mass Attack" which 40oz edited to fit the palette. Lastly, there were a couple of flats from "Powerslave" added in by request of mortiscausadonatio (these are the gold coins at the end of his level).

I pulled some sprites from Realm667. Some of the marble columns were created by Captain Toenail, Gez, ShadesMaster, and Shtbag667. The lion statues come from "Destructible Fantasy Props" and were credited to whirledtsar. The health/armor bonus replacements were also pulled from Realm667 where they were listed as "potions". The animation on these sprites was added by RastaManGames.The custom weapon sprites were suggested and provided by corvus262. The plasma gun is replaced by a modified "Frost Fang" from Realm667. As for the BFG replacement, the hand is taken from the mage from Hexen with the rest of the sprites being reworked from Heretic and Hexene. The book in the hud is from Realm667. The melee/fists were replaced by a sickle based on the ones by Neoworm from Wrath of Chronos/Hexen 2. The cell pickups are taken from Heretic.

Also thanks to lunchlunch for taking the reigns for DPB68! I'm incredibly glad to not have to be on the hook for leading that one.
